Wawanesa offers two different types of insurance for U.S. residents: car insurance and residential insurance. Residential insurance covers both homeowners and rental insurance.

What makes Wawanesa car insurance different?

One of the biggest differences that you will find between Wawanesa and many other auto insurance companies is that Wawanesa doesn’t offer a six-month policy option – only twelve months, which is actually beneficial to policyholders.

The reason that so many insurance companies renew every six months instead of every twelve is so that they can check your driving record more often and increase your rates if you have had an accident or points added to your driver’s license, and so on.

This practice isn’t illegal or unethical; it simply allows insurance companies to protect themselves from unsafe drivers.

Wawanesa Car Insurance Company, on the other hand, renews annually, which locks in your rates and allows you to save money.

The downside is that if you have had a past accident and the penalty expires in the first few months of your policy, then you are stuck with the higher rate for the duration of your policy.

Wawanesa is also different because they cater specifically to good drivers. They don’t approve applications from bad drivers, high-risk drivers, people with multiple claims, points on their license, etc.

The benefit is that if you are a good driver, then you receive an even better discount because they don’t have high-risk drivers, which equates to lower rates for all of their drivers. If, while you have a policy with the company, you have multiple accidents, then it is likely that you will be dropped once it is time for your policy to renew.

What discounts does Wawanesa offer?

Just like every car insurance company, Wawanesa offers a variety of discounts for their policyholders. All of their discounts, however, are contingent upon at least three years of good driving.

In addition, some of their discounts require approved safety driving courses. For example, their mature driver discount applies when you take the mature driver safety course, which is only available for those who are 55 and older.

You can also get discounts for low mileage driving, safe driving, having certain safety devices in your vehicle, and more. If you choose Wawanesa for your car insurance, you will find that they clearly state the discounts you are receiving on your bill each month.

How do I file an insurance claim with  Wawanesa?

Policyholders can submit a Wawanesa auto insurance claim 24/7 online at wawanesa.com or by calling a toll-free claims number to speak directly to a customer service representative.

Does Wawanesa offer the same types of insurance as other companies?

Just like any insurance company, Wawanesa is required to provide specific types of insurance, or they will not be licensed to sell insurance in your state. Thus, whatever minimum requirements are required where you live, Wawanesa offers it.

In addition to the minimums required by California and Oregon, you will find that they also offer comprehensive and collision insurance for their drivers. These services are virtually the same as you will find at any other insurance company.

You can get Wawanesa towing and labor coverage for your vehicle. Unlike some other insurance companies, however, Wawanesa requires you to pay a $50 deductible for this service.

You can also choose rental insurance coverage. This coverage will provide you with service if you have an accident and your vehicle is totaled or needs to spend some time in the shop.

As with other insurance companies, you can save on your Wawanesa car insurance by selecting a larger deductible for your policy. Wawanesa offers two standard deductibles: $250 and $500. If you want a larger deductible, then you will have to speak to an agent.

If you choose to increase your deductible, you need to ensure that the deductible is an amount you can afford.

Competitive pricing and easy to work with.

They allow me to have more cars than drivers and are very responsive when you need them. Had a Glass claim on my truck that was very painless and straightforward, with the only issue of not being able to get the part for 2 weeks, and it wasn't even their fault, it was due to covid related shortages. As long as things stay like this, i will be customer for the long haul.

Terrible car insurance

I was in a fender bender in a supermarket parking lot. I was completely stopped in an isle waiting for some shoppers with a cart to cross the isle. Another car backed into me trying to leave her spot. Her bumper hit the driver side of my car. My insurance DID NOT fight for me at all. Somehow I was held liable for the damage to my vehicle. They wanted to make money off of my deductible (which was higher than the damages) when the other person's in...

I have always had a good experience with Wawanesa Insurance. Compared to other companies I pay lower rates but still get quality service when I need it. I've had to contact them after being in a couple of accidents and they were very good at keeping me informed on dealing with the other parties insurance and eventually getting me a settlement. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others if you want to pay low rates and get quality service...

Terrible and Cheap Auto Insurance

This company’s website to add a new car is hectic and confusing, their options are not clear and specific. Plus, their policy is outdated and even slow. The customer service is terrible, it is similar to going to a DMV.

Wawanesa 10+ Year Policyholder

I've had 2 claims, both were very well supported. Car was stolen in 2010, and was handled well as they helped with a car rental and paid out claim quickly and smoothly. Second incident was me getting rear ended, and they acted on it immediately. Great customer service and competitively priced.
